Sandalwood:

Sandalwood oil has played a role in the religious traditions of India and other Eastern countries for milenia. It is extracted through steam distillation of wood from matured sandalwood trees, 40-80 years old, with older trees yielding better oil. It is composed of two primary molecules, alpha- and beta-santalol. The  Alpha-santalol molecule has been evaluated for health benefits including improving blood glucose control in mice, reducing, inflammation, and aiding the reduction of skin cancer.

Amongst other uses it is employed in the treatment of:


  • acne, dry and/or cracked skin, greasy skin, broken capillaries and makes an effective aftershave
  • to eases aches and pains
  • depression, insomnia, nervous tension & stress
  • bronchitis, catarrh, coughs, sore throat, laryngitis
  • cystitis, diarrhea, nausea, and to cleanses the kidneys.
